For the first time at the Berlinale “DigiDays – exploring the economic future of digital film” will provide a forum for exchange among filmmakers.
In a series of three focused morning panels we will discuss the oppurtunities and possibilites that the digitization of film offers. Alongside our partner New Producers Alliance, peacefulfish, and Directed Magazine we will present singular perspectives from exemplary markets.
On Sunday (8th February, 2009) at 11:00 am we will explore the unchartered potential of self-distribution, the changing role of theatrical distribution, and the implications of these developments for film financing.
On Monday (9th February, 2009) at 11:00 am we will take a look at how the internet can aid filmmakers with marketing to their unique audiences as well as launching the development of a project.
On Tuesday (10th February, 2009) at 11:00 am we will discuss low-budget slate financing and we will showcase challenges and opportunities of multi-platform production and financing.
On Friday (13th February, 2009) at 4:30 pm we will discuss the potential of Creative Commons for media makers who wish to yield more control over their creative work.
